  • Philosophy/Approach to Fitness: Meet your clients where they are at and get them to where they want to be.
  • Personal Fitness Achievements:  Competition for me was in hockey and baseball. Training and nutrition has always been about longevity. Feeling good, looking good and doing all the things I love for as long as I possibly can. Competition in bodybuilding or strength/power lifting has never excited me to that point I wanted to compete in it. Its always been a personal journey for myself. I guess being able to maintain my health and fitness to my current level for 27 years is an achievement.
  • Why Did You Become a Personal Trainer? I became a trainer because i’ve always loved being in the gym. Growing up a scrawny kid with social anxiety it was my escape from the mental prison i lived in. the goal was to get jacked so that everyone would love and admire me and all the things I couldn’t get on my own would come to me and fall into my lap. Well that never came true but it did become an escape from my own mental prison and the one place i always felt most at home in. years later after life fell apart i went on a long and hard journey to overcome crippling social anxiety and build self confidence. On that journey and through being coached I realized how empowering it was to know that I could change all the limiting bullshit stories I’d believed to be true my whole life. I knew that if i could overcome such a massive barrier in my own life that anyone could do it no matter the obstacle. I wanted to be able help others at the thing i felt confident at, the same way i was coached to concur my anxiety, for me that was in fitness. I understand fully and well what its like to struggle and never know if more or better is available. I do what i do strictly because I want to help others see what is truly possible for them and to know just how god dam good it feels to overcome what has stood in their way for far too long.
  • What Do You Love Most About Your Job? Interacting and creating a deep and lasting connection with others.
  • Favorite Client Success Story: I’ve had a few but probably my client and now good friend Ashley. He’s been with me for 5 years.. Went from 350 lbs to 215. Coached him in fitness and in life to overcome his social anxiety
  • Your Own Fitness Journey: Growing up in Melville, Saskatchewan, I played competitive hockey and baseball. At 14, I turned to fitness to overcome low self-esteem, social anxiety, and a lack of confidence. The gym quickly became my sanctuary and a source of personal transformation.
As an evidence-based trainer, I collaborate closely with my mentors, Dr. Layne Norton and Dr. Bill Campbell, ensuring my clients benefit from the latest, research-backed strategies in fitness and nutrition. My focus is on helping clients become pain-free while transforming their bodies—whether it’s losing fat, gaining lean muscle, or both.
Having worked as a Locomotive Engineer for CP and CN Rail, where I was on the road for up to 100 hours a week, I understand the challenges hardworking professionals face in staying fit and active. This experience shaped my unique approach to balancing health and wellness alongside the demands of family, friends, and life’s many obligations.
My career change was driven by a lifelong passion for fitness and my personal journey to overcome social anxiety. Now, I help others realize their true potential, supporting them in transforming both their bodies and their lives.
  • Hobbies and Interests Outside of Fitness: hockey, snowboarding, reading, walking.
  • Favorite Fitness Quote or Motto: Not necessarily a fitness quote but def applies. Andy Frisella “You are responsible for everything in your life” I love this because I played a victim most of my life. It was the easiest – hard thing I ever did. Ownership and taking responsibility for everything going how it did and how my life will turn out is the hardest-easy thing…if that makes sense.
  • Additional Skills or Interests Related to Fitness: Nutrition coaching for sure. My greatest skill is having empathy and understanding towards others.  I just relate to others and their struggles and its what made me good at what I do above all the courses and education.
