Infrared Sauna Attire

At Brickhouse Gym, we want you to get the maximum benefits from your infrared sauna sessions while maintaining a comfortable and hygienic environment for all members. Below is a guide on what to wear when using our infrared sauna in a public setting.

Recommended Attire

To experience the full benefits of infrared heat penetration, it’s important to wear lightweight, breathable clothing that allows your skin to sweat freely.

  • Swimwear – A simple swimsuit or athletic-style bikini is an excellent choice. However, if you choose to wear swimwear, you must keep covered up with a cotton or bamboo-style full-body bathrobe. Avoid suits with metal components as they may become hot and uncomfortable.

  • Light, Loose-Fitting Clothing – Opt for natural, breathable fabrics like cotton. A tank top and shorts or a lightweight cover-up will work well. As well, you must keep covered up with a cotton or bamboo-style full-body bathrobe.

  • Sweatpants and Sweatshirt – Wearing a comfortable pair of sweatpants and a sweatshirt is another great option that provides modesty while allowing effective heat penetration. If you choose this option, a full bathrobe is not needed.

What to Avoid

  • Shoes on Your Feet – Footwear is not allowed inside the infrared sauna. Shoes can trap heat, interfere with air flow, and bring in dirt and bacteria, compromising the cleanliness and hygiene of the sauna environment. It is best to enter with clean socks for sauna use.

  • Heavy or Tight Clothing – Restrictive clothing can trap heat and interfere with your body’s ability to cool itself effectively.

  • Synthetic Fabrics – Materials like polyester or nylon can prevent air flow and may release unpleasant odors when heated.

  • Jewelry and Accessories – Remove metal jewelry and accessories before entering, as they can absorb heat and cause discomfort.

Hygiene and Etiquette

  • Always Use a Towel – Place a towel on the bench to absorb sweat and prevent damage/bacteria to the wood surfaces.

  • Stay Hydrated – Bring a water bottle and hydrate before and after your session. But absolutely no bottles inside the sauna.

  • Respect Time Limits – Follow time recommendations to ensure a safe and effective experience. Ideal use is 20-30 minutes per session up to 3 days per week.

By following these guidelines, you’ll enhance your infrared sauna experience while ensuring a clean and comfortable environment for all Brickhouse Gym members.
